Scholarship Programmes for Students in Finland

In Finland, there are many scholarship programmes being offered to students by different organisations. The scholarship programmes are offered for doctoral studies ad research in Finland higher education institutions. 

CIMO Scholarships

CIMO offers many scholarship programmes for doctoral studies and research at Finnish Universities. 
Presently CIMO manages and is responsible for the following scholarship programmes:
  • CIMO Fellowships
  • Finnish Government Scholarship Pool
  • Scholarships for Kindred Peoples
  • Scholarships for Master's level degree students of the Finnish language 
  • Scholarships for post-Master's-level degree students and researchers of the Finnish language 

EU Scholarships

EU-funded scholarships are offered for either: full degree studies in Erasmus Mundus / Erasmus Joint Masters or Doctorate Programmes, or mobility scholarships of different duration for students and other people from selected countries and regions outside of the EU who want to study in European universities.
The different EU Scholarships offered are the following:
  • Joint Masters and Doctorates
  • Erasmus Mundus Mobility Scholarships
  • Erasmus Mobility Scholarships
  • Marie Skłodowska Curie Actions

Scholarships to Finland for Brazilian Nationals

Science without Borders (Ciencia sem Fronteiras) is a scholarship programme mainly funded by the Brazilian federal government for Brazilian citizens only.  The programme allows the Brazilian pupils and researches to study at Finnish higher education institutions. Scholarships are available for different levels of studies- Undergraduate, Postgraduate and Post-doc research.

Fulbright Center Grants for Americans 

The Fulbright Center offers grants to American graduate students, scholars, lecturers, teachers, to study, research or teach in Finland. The Finnish Fulbright Commission, center, non-profit oragnisation funded by Finnish, Canadian and US government, the Finland-America Educational Trust Fund, established by the US and Finnish governments, and the private Finnish foundations and higher education institutions administers the  Fulbright program in Finland.
The grants are awarded to more than 80 Finnish and American pupils and professionals every year.
